I now live in a farm
At the edge of a reserve forest
Outside a small village
Right outside a small tier 3 town

It has been 7 years
Since i made the switch
From the city to the rural itch
Because the urban lifestyle was a bitch

I was attracted to the romance
Of being amidst nature
I wanted to take a chance
With Organic agriculture

We built a house
With mud and lime and wood
All it needed was conviction
With loads of love and commitment

The monsoon arrived early that year, 2019
Earlier than expected
The roof collapsed a bit
Before we could call Bhoomi complete

They called the house kaccha
But our determination was pakka
We rebuilt the walls and the roof
5 years of Bhoomi is now living proof

Proof that sustainability is not a fad
It doesn’t need to turn you mad
It needs a little resistance, resolve and revolt
And mostly patience and perseverance

The 3 principles of our farm:
Minimum Tillage, Zero Burn, Bio Diversity
The 3 commitments by our farm shop are:
Local, Organic, Pure

All i have is gratitude
For the abundance our farm provides
Without the efforts of the birds and bees
It wouldn’t have been possible

To our choices, we are thankful
To our supporters, we are grateful
Vaanavil Farm & Food Forest is here to stay!
